SlideProjection is the name of the band led by Ken Dombrowski based in Hamburg. Embedded in an electroacoustic sound, stylistic contrasts are used musically to reflect these themes in a narrative, provocative, and humorous manner. The pieces sound experimental yet accessible, offering the audience various perspectives on the conditions of our present time.
In their new program A Hypocrite in Crisis, SlideProjection confronts the reality of human-driven climate change and the shifting relationship between humanity and nature. At its core lies the pressing question: why, despite our awareness of the looming destruction of our very foundations of life, do we fail to act accordingly?
Under the same title, the Australian author Ula Martyn-Ellis has written a short story, which becomes an integral part of the concert through a specially composed musical adaptation.
Musically, the band creates vivid soundscapes, interweaving field recordings of natural environments with traces of human interference. These sonic fragments are transformed and abstracted, giving the music a distinctive, almost surreal quality.
